WHO WE ARE
In 1988 David graduated with a Specialized Technology Degree in Mechanical Drafting & Design in Allentown, Pennsylvania where he served as class treasurer. After graduation David was hired by Eastern Engineering Associates, Inc., and worked as a designer/draftsman responsible for maintaining detailed engineering drawings used to manufacture tractor trailer chassis and brake systems for Mack Trucks, Inc.
Recruited in 1992 by Designer Services of the Treasure Coast, Inc., to fabricate, mold, develop, design and engineer prototypes for a wide range of pre-production products for IBM, Motorola, Beckman Coulter and many others. Gained expertise in soft tool mold design, refined machine design theory/skills, and learned the very latest rapid/traditional prototype and production processes first hand.
In 1995 David formed Drafting Designs (a full service contract design house), where he implemented a world-class quality management system and maintained two internationally recognized ISO certifications (ISO 9001-2000 & ISO 13485:2003 for medical device design and manufacturing). Heavily leveraging 3D solid modeling and rapid prototyping, Drafting Designs became a well known firm to the area supporting the design engineering and documentation needs for many surrounding manufacturing, product development firms, and residential home builders.
Sensing the changed economic climate and increasing desire of entrepreneurs to grow both high and low tech. product based businesses, David has re-emerged to focus on fulfilling all steps in transforming innovations into marketable products, has gathered gifted talent and entered into a new partnership quest known as Envision Product Development Group to further challenge his entrepreneurial capabilities and further devote himself to commercialization of new products internally and for others.
After his client-side brand management career John joined the consulting firm of Landis Strategy and Innovation (LSI) where he led multiple client engagements for Fortune 100 companies resulting brand growth and new product launches. After three years in that role he took over leadership of the LSI consulting team and led it to record levels of revenue and profit. Following the acquisition of LSI by TNS Custom Research, John led the integration into the new company and stayed on as the Executive Vice President until October of 2016.
He has been a presenter at several industry conferences, including the Front End of Innovation, The Market Research Event, and the Retail Dietician Symposium.
His background includes, designing destruct systems for the solid rocket boosters for NASA during the Apollo Space Program, designing lasers and optical targeting systems for Aberdeen Proving Grounds, and 20 years experience designing and manufacturing NoteTakers, Printers, and Computers for the blind for Blazie Engineering, Inc. While at Blazie, he designed the first palmtop for the blind, and the first commercial portable Braille printer for the blind, recognized world wide as the “Romeo Brailler”. His design talents encompass electronic circuitry, mechanical design, hydraulic systems, and the field of optics.
He is self taught in all these disciplines and has received several awards for his accomplishments, including the “Golden Key Award” from the National Federation of the Blind. Michael has also conducted advanced level medical research at Johns Hopkins University and Cellco, Inc.
He is a highly skilled in product design, package design, graphic design, model making and photography. Experienced in machining, mold making, painting, and all types of fabrication and presentation techniques. Creative “hands-on” problem solver able to develop productive relationships and strategic business partnerships with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
WHAT OUR CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY
Envision came highly recommended, and I highly recommend them as well. They’re a one-stop-shop. They’ve got everything, top quality engineers who have worked on everything from projects with NASA to projects with local baseball teams, their staff is wonderful. Amazing company and great people.Lee JonesH2Grow
Our project was floundering at another firm until we met with Envision. They worked closely with us in making sure the ergonomics, material selections, and mold design of our project worked the way we needed it to. We’ve been really happy with the direction everything went since they came on board.Barry BerhoffShurhold Industries
When I met with Envision, they understood immediately what I was looking for. Instead of trying to tell me what I needed, they listened to what I needed and got the idea very quickly. With their help, we were able to speed up the development process immensely.Mike CristoforoBeam Genie
Envision was extremely receptive and responsive through all phases of the design process. In four months we went from napkin sketch to show-quality prototype, developed a surgical protocol, and made photo-realistic images and renderings that truly impressed.Steve Goldberg M.D.Shoulder Arthroplasty Implants
